This project involved a small side extension that allowed us to add a new bathroom and laundry while also increasing the clients’ living space. Once the new rooms were complete, we removed the original bathroom to create a wider passageway and a more open, functional living area. Alongside the extension we introduced new windows, doors and skylights to flood the interiors with natural light. The result is a brighter, more functional space that connects beautifully to the outdoors.
Challenges
Building this extension hard up against the side boundary presented unique constraints. With no access to the exterior wall once the frame was in place, our team had to pre-install the cladding and comply with strict fire-rating requirements before standing the frames.
